CHENNAI: Incessant rains are continuing in Chennai and authorities have declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Wednesday.

Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpettu districts may continue to experience heavy rainfall in the coming days. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin demanded that employees of IT companies be allowed to work from home till the 18th of this month.

Many localities in Chennai have gone down in rain with waterlogging turning a normal site. Residents in low-lying areas such as Koyembedu, Guindy, Velachery and Madipakkam have suffered the worst in the rains. IMD has predicted the rains to continue in Chennai for two more days. Bengaluru city was flooded on Wednesday while Mysuru Expressway passengers have been cautioned.
