MUMBAI: Sanju Samson has silenced his critics with a record-breaking century in the recently concluded T20 series against Bangladesh. His 111 runs off 47 balls in the third match became the first T20I century by an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman. Following this achievement, Sanju expressed his desire to play Test cricket for India. In a recent interview, Sanju Samson revealed how Indian team management responded to his desire to play Test cricket.

"Before the Duleep Trophy, the team management told me to take red-ball cricket more seriously. They said they are considering me for Test matches and asked me to play more Ranji Trophy games," Sanju Samson said.

"Test cricket is a format where you need to work hard and get results. I'm working hard for it. I believe I'll play Test cricket at the right time. I have the confidence that I can play all three formats."

He added that he returned to the Kerala Ranji team with the goal of making it to the Indian Test cricket squad.

Sanju Samson will represent Kerala in the Ranji Trophy match scheduled to begin on November 18 in Bengaluru. He visited the Kerala players who won against Punjab in Thumba yesterday at the team hotel and shared his Indian team experiences.
