Alappuzha's famous hotel in KSRTC's new list; check full list of hotels

ALAPPUZHA: Officials have prepared a new list of hotels that will provide food and refreshments for passengers travelling by KSRTC bus. The bus will halt in these hotels for passengers to have their food on time. Four hotels in Alappuzha have made it to the list.

Permission was granted to private hotels at Thiruvambady, Punnapra, Karuvatta and Nangayarkulangara on the condition that they conform to KSRTC's norms and instructions. The list of 24 hotels in various districts has been published apart from the canteens operating in various depots of KSRTC in the state.

On the National Highway, KSRTC had canteens at Cherthala, Alappuzha, Haripad and Kayamkulam depots. And now, it has been months since the canteens at Alappuzha and Haripad depots stopped functioning. In Haripad depot, where the district office is functioning with modern facilities, no organizations have come forward to take over the canteen. The high rent for the building is deterring many from stepping forward.

• Food quality, price, toilet facilities and parking facilities were considered before choosing the hotels.

• The name of the hotels and the time the vehicle will reach the destination for meals should be displayed behind the driver's seat.

• The depots were also instructed to stop buses at certain times.
