MUMBAI: The lyricist of the actor's new film has been arrested for sending death threats to Bollywood actor Salman Khan on behalf of the Bishnoi gang. 24-year-old Sohail Pasha was arrested from Raichur in Karnataka. Sohail has written the song 'Main Sikandar Hun' in Salman Khan's upcoming film. The police said Sohail called the Mumbai traffic control because he wanted the song, which mentions Bishnoi, to get publicity.
The WhatsApp helpline of Mumbai Police received a threatening message on November 7. The message threatened to kill Salman Khan and the lyricist of the song, which was written in reference to Bishnoi, if Rs 5 crore not paid. The message said the lyricist will no longer be able to write songs. If Salman Khan has the courage, he should save them, the message said.
Further investigation revealed that the message came from the phone of Vyankatesh Narayan in Raichur. However, there was no internet connection in this phone. The police noticed that the OTP number for installing WhatsApp came on his phone and questioned him further. He said that a stranger in the market asked if he could have his phone to make a call.
Further investigation revealed that it was Sohail who used Vyankatesh’s phone to send the threat message. Sohail was arrested and produced in court. He was remanded in police custody for two days.
