THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Women's Commission chairperson P Sathidevi said that it is necessary to introduce censorship in the television serial sector as wrong messages are reaching the society through serials. Sathidevi said that the issues faced by women working in the serial sector are also under the consideration of the Women's Commission.

"The report demanding a ban on television serials was submitted in 2017-18. I did not see that report. A lot of people are living depending on the television serial sector. The issues faced by women in the serial sector are under the consideration of the Commission," Sathidevi said.

She added that the Commission has given instructions to conduct an inquiry and submit a report regarding the incident where the hotel rooms of women leaders of Congress were raided by the police at night in Palakkad.
