MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to visit India soon. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov gave a hint about the visit and said that the dates are being finalized. The news of Putin’s purported Indian visit comes on the 1000th day of the Ukraine war. Despite great efforts from world superpowers for effective mediation, a truce is slipping out of hands and the escalation in Eastern Europe is going beyond proportion.
It is expected that Putin will meet Indian PM Modi in Delhi and will engage in serious diplomatic discussion, mostly regarding the war. It will also raise eyebrows across Europe since many believe India is the ideal choice to alleviate tensions between the two countries. In the last such meeting, PM Modi raised India’s belief in peaceful solutions through dialogue and disregarded violence.
PM Modi even sent his National Security Adviser Ajit Doval to Russia this year to meet Russian President Putin.
Minding the new escalation in the war, US President Joe Biden gave the green signal to Kyiv to use long-range missiles, that can wreak havoc in Russia.
