Thiruvananthapuram-Kochi route in 50 minutes; service to start tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A new service has been announced to benefit domestic passengers in Kerala. Air India Express has announced a service connecting Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, the two major cities of Kerala. Air India will start operations on Tuesday and Saturday. The service has been announced from November 23. Air India Express will be operating on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kochi route in addition to IndiGo's daily services.

A direct service without any other layovers has been announced. So the good thing is that the travel time is only 50 minutes. The service from Thiruvananthapuram will be operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The flight will depart at 7.15 am and reach Kochi at 8.05 am. Services from Kochi are available on Mondays and Fridays. The flight will leave Kochi at 11 pm and reach Thiruvananthapuram at 11.50 pm.

Though there are many services on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kochi route, only IndiGo operates direct services. According to the website, the ticket prices start from Rs 2,895 on the newly announced service. There are many other services that connect Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi, but all of them go to Bengaluru and then reach Kochi from there.
