SINGAPORE: Indian Grandmaster D Gukesh defeated reigning World Champion Ding Liren in the third round of the World Chess Championship held in Singapore. Gukesh, who suffered a loss in the first round and secured a draw in the second, now shares 1.5 points with the Chinese player. In the 14-round tournament, the first player to reach 7.5 points will be crowned the World Champion.
