KOCHI: Despite putting forth a great game of football, Kerala Blasters stumbled in front of FC Goa in an ISL match on Thursday. A grave error from Blasters goalkeeper Sachin Suresh resulted in Goa going front in the 40th minute and hanging on that lead until the final whistle.
FC Goa's Boris Singh Thangjam aimed for the right far post but the shot easily fell into Sachin’s hand. However, the goalkeeper in a gaffe, made a frail attempt to control the ball which resulted it in gliding through his hands to the goal.
Blasters displayed aggressive football and tried all chances to penetrate into the Goa goal box from the very start. FC Goa had just one job — to create a defensive bulwark, and they did it to perfection. Pritam Kotal, Rahul KP and Jiminez were taken back and some fresh pair of legs were introduced in the field during the second half. Even this effort proved futile against the strong defense setup of Goa.
Dejan Drazic scared the Blasters defense often at times with a top-notch performance. This is the fifth defeat for Kerala Blasters in 10 matches of the season. Blasters are ninth in the table with 11 points.
