THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi said that the Bollywood classic 'Ankur' is one of the most important films in her career. Shabana Azmi, who has completed half a century in her acting career, was speaking at the 29th IFFK's special session honouring her.
"The fact that Ankur, which garnered attention both within and outside India, remains enjoyable even 50 years later is the greatest recognition. I take pride in being a part of the first edition of the IFFK as well as the 29th edition. It's a great joy that 'Ankur' is being screened on the same platform on director Shyam Benegal's birthday," Shabana Azmi said.
Former minister MA Baby inaugurated the event ahead of the screening of Ankur. He presented a memento from the Film Academy to Shabana Azmi and extended birthday greetings to director Shyam Benegal.
