HYDERABAD: The Telangana Police have refuted actor Allu Arjun's claim that the police did not inform him about the death of a woman in the stampede that occurred during the release of Pushpa 2. The police released CCTV footage of Sandhya Theatre where Allu was present through a press meet. These are the footage of Allu coming out of the theatre with the DCP before the show ended.
Soon after the death of the woman identified as Revathi, the ACP informed Allu's manager and demanded the actor to leave immediately. Since the response was not favorable, the ACP himself asked the actor directly. However, the police said that Allu replied that he would remain in the theatre until the show was over. The DCP then stormed inside and asked him to leave within minutes.
Revathi died on December 4 in the stampede during the premiere show of Pushpa 2. Her son injured in the accident is brain dead. The police also said that Allu remained in the theatre for a long time despite being informed about Revathi's death. The police released CCTV footage and mobile phone footage as evidence.
Allu Arjun had alleged the other day that the police did not inform him about the accident. Allu told the media that no one told him to leave the theater. Following Revathi's death, a case was registered against Allu Arjun, the security personnel and the theater owner. Allu was then arrested by the Hyderabad police. Allu Arjun, who got bail, was released from jail the next morning.
