Toxic is a movie directed by Geethu Mohandas starring Kannada superstar Yash. The one-minute teaser of the film was shared on YouTube today which is also Yash's birthday. The teaser is currently receiving a huge response. An update about a film starring Yash is coming out after a long wait.
However, after the release of the teaser, director Nithin Renji Panicker has come out criticizing the film's director Geethu Mohandas. Nithin alleges that Geethu Mohandas has changed her stance on misogyny. His criticism was based on the scenes from the teaser of Toxic.
Geethu Mohandas was also present on the same stage when actress Parvathy Thiruvothu made serious criticism about Nithin Renji Panicker's movie Kasaba. It was Geethu Mohandas who asked Parvathy to open up about everything. Nithin, who is also the son of actor, director and screenwriter Ranji Panicker, criticized the director, pointing this out.
Nithin took a sarcastic jibe about the scenes in Toxic that " it is a visual representation of political correctness where no trace of anti-feminism, no male gaze objectifying the female body, and no male pride which was seen in Kasaba can be found." His expression was through social media. "Person who said 'Say it Say it' and changed the gear, conveniently changed the interpretation of misogyny after crossing the state?," asks Nitin Ranji Panicker in his Instagram post. He shared his post with the hashtag 'Toxic'.
Nithin Ranji Panicker's post is paving the way for a new discussion on social media. After the release of the teaser of Toxic, the general criticism is that Geethu Mohandas is celebrating superstar Yash and male supremacy.
Parvathy Thiruvothu had criticized Nithin Ranji Panicker's first film Kasaba years ago in a public forum. Parvathy was subjected to severe cyber attacks after her criticism. Mammootty was the hero in Kasaba. When Parvathy hesitated to say the name of the movie, it was Geethu Mohandas who asked her to say it. Nithin Ranji Panicker's criticism is based on this.
