THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court has found Greeshma, the first accused in the sensational Sharon murder case, guilty. Her sentence will be pronounced tomorrow. The court acquitted Greeshma's mother Sindhu, the second accused. Greeshma's uncle Nirmala Kumaran Nair has also been found guilty. The prosecution was able to prove all the charges against Greeshma. The verdict was pronounced by Neyyattinkara sessions judge A M Basheer.
Crimes like kidnapping, murder by poisoning, and misleading the investigating officers have been proven against Greeshma. Greeshma has been found guilty under sections 302, 328, 364, and 201 of the IPC. The court acquitted the second accused and Greeshma's mother Sindhu, due to lack of evidence. The court also found that the evidence against the third accused, her uncle, was strong. The trial over the sentence will be held tomorrow. The court has prepared a 500-page verdict.
Greeshma, lover of Sharon, mixed poison in the kashayam and offered to him at her house in Tamil Nadu on October 14 in 2022. Though Sharon was admitted in the hospital after developing physical discomfort, his life could not be saved. Sharon died on October 25 after battling for days.
Sharon did not even suspect his lover Greeshma, in his death statement. The Parasala police had concluded that it was a normal death. However, after interrogation and investigation by the special investigation team, it was found that Greeshma had poisoned Sharon. She wanted him out of her life to marry a soldier and so poisoned him. Her mother and uncle were made accused in the case based on the police finding that they had tried to save Greeshma.
The case was investigated by a special investigation team formed by Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP D Shilpa. SP M K Zulfikkar, DySPs K J Johnson, V T Rasith and Parasala inspector Saji led the investigation. Special public prosecutor V S Vineeth Kumar, advocate Alfas Madathil and advocate Navaneeth Kumar appeared for the prosecution.
