CHENNAI: A youngster shared his marriage photo on social media in great spirits, but little did he know that his life was about to make a turnaround. A bank employee named Sivachandran married a 32-year-old 'Doctor Nishanthi'. The young man also shared the wedding pictures on social media, but things started going awry as he spotted the odds comments reaching the post.
A young man named Napoleon from Puthur commented that the young woman in the picture was not Dr. Nishanthi but his wife Meera. Napoleon commented that he married Meera in 2017 and about a year later, she left the house stealing valuables.
If Sivachandran thought he had enough trauma with this comment, he was mistaken. Sivachandran engaged in a heated chat with Napolean over the issue when N Raja, a native of Cuddalore, commented that the woman in the photo was his wife. This was too much to bear for the youngster so he reached the police station with his wife to complain. Sivachandran handed over the developments on social media to the police as evidence.
During interrogation, the woman admitted that her real name was not Nishanthi or Meera, but Lakshmi. The woman also told the police that apart from the three persons mentioned in the incident, she had another husband. Lakshmi (32) got married for the first time in 2010. Lakshmi's first marriage was in 2010 with Silambarasan, a native of Pazhaiyur. They have two children. Silambarasan died a few years after the marriage.
She soon left the place with her children and reached Erode. Lakshmi then married using a different identity. Months later, she stole her husband's money and fled the place. Considering the complaint of fraud, Mayiladuthurai court remanded Lakshmi. According to police, Lakshmi’s modus operandi is to marry strangers and then pilferage the place.
