KANNUR: Dayananda Sagar Nursing College Principal Sweet Rosy and class coordinator Sujatha were suspended in connection with the suicide of Anamika, a native of Muzhappilangad and a first-year B.Sc student of the college in Ramanagara, Karnataka. The action comes after Anamika's relatives and classmates came forward with allegations on her death.

Family members and classmates alleged that Anamika had suffered severe mental torture from the college management and alleged the role of college authorities in the death. One of the two suicide notes found in Anamika's room also mentions the name of the college officials responsible for her decision.

The voice messages sent by Anamika to her classmates on WhatsApp were also revealed. The college denied these allegations. Anamika's parents have also filed a complaint against the college authorities at Haroli Police Station, Karnataka. Anamika was found hanging dead in her hostel room on Tuesday night. KSU district secretary Alekh Kattachira has filed a complaint with the Karnataka government demanding a comprehensive investigation into the incident. At the same time, Anamika’s body was brought home to Kannur and cremated.
