DUBAI: Unskilled labourers from Pakistan will no longer be able to dream of long-term employment in the UAE. This was stated by Pakistan’s ambassador to the UAE, Faisal Niaz Tirmizi. He emphasized that the UAE now requires only highly skilled workers. He also added that the UAE's market for skilled labour has expanded significantly.

Faisal Niaz made these remarks in an interview with Gulf News. He mentioned that the UAE job market now primarily seeks professionals such as accountants, IT specialists, bankers, AI experts, physicians, nurses, and pilots. Therefore, Pakistanis should focus on enhancing their skills in these fields, as doing so would open up significant opportunities.

Currently, unskilled workers in the UAE earn around 1,000 dirhams or slightly more per month. However, if Pakistanis acquire advanced skills in the mentioned fields, they could potentially earn up to 20,000 dirhams, according to Faisal Niaz. He highlighted that today’s world is driven by IT expertise, accounting, and healthcare, and hence, the younger generation in Pakistan should be trained accordingly to meet global demands.

Meanwhile, the increasing demand for skilled labour in the UAE presents greater job opportunities for Indians, including Malayalis, in the coming years. This brings hope to those aspiring to work in the UAE.
