'Muralichettan hit me; I complained; Lalettan took it seriously': Actress Urvashi shares experience on Bharatham set

Actress Urvashi shared an interesting experience with Mohanlal and Murali in the movie Bharatham. Murali is a very serious person on the set. Despite this, Urvashi remembers that she took a lot of freedom with Murali out of affection for him. Urvashi narrated an incident where she got a small beating from Murali on the location of the movie.

Urvashi's words:

"I call Muralichettan 'Kochettan'. Muralichettan always took such a freedom and authority with me. Chattering about silly things was my hobby during the shooting of Bharatham. When this crosses a point, Muralichettan would say, "Sweetheart… that's enough, shut up please". Lalettan would be around too. I would then get up and call him 'Murali,' and then after a gap add 'Kochetta'. For many days this continued as a joke. Then Muralichettan said, 'Don't make me get and come there, for you will get a beating if I do.' If Muralichettan says he will hit, then he will hit, and for this he doesn't discriminate whether it is a man or a woman.

I was confident that he wouldn't beat me. One day at the location of Bharatham, I called him "da Murali... Kochetta," and I ran away. That time he ran towards me from the other side and stood in front of me. He was very angry. I said to him I was simply joking.

How many times have I told you? You call everyone older than you by their names here. He told me not to call him like that anymore and gave me a slap on my hand. Although I didn't feel any pain, it turned red and swollen.

A while later, I was acting a scene with Lalettan. It was a serious scene. Lalettan said to me, "Shut up, kid." Muralichettan, hearing this, said to Lalettan, "I slapped her for saying such things." That's when Lalettan saw the mark of the slap. I complained to Lalettan that Muralichettan hit me.

Lalettan became serious. "What did you do... this was bad. We shouldn't do such things. They are girls, right? They'll say something silly, it's like that. Are we supposed to take that seriously?" Lalettan asked Muralichettan. "When he looked at my hand, Muralichettan also understood the matter. I sat like a poor soul all that day."
