Recently, actress Suma Jayaram faced a lot of flak on social media for revealing her husband's negative side and seemingly turbulent marriage life. In an interview, Suma opened up about her husband’s tryst with alcohol and how it has taken a toll on her life too.
The actress recently shared a video of the birthday celebrations of her twins. However, a lot of criticism appeared as comments on the video and some even blamed her for exploiting her husband’s money while at the same time humiliating him in public.
Suma Jayaram:
“ I saw many comments about me making most of my husband’s money and not even inviting his family members for the birthday celebrations. To be honest, I only keep contact with my mother-in-law from his family. If I decide to open up more about his family, I will end up hurting my husband too. I’m not in great connection with my in-laws. There were indeed many instances or incidents after marriage which hurt me badly.
People may feel like I got married to a millionaire and I ought to be content with my life. There are many things that I experienced after getting married. After marriage, if we stay with our in-laws, we will get great insights into the behaviour of our husbands, and their relatives. If not ready to dance to their tunes, we will be kicked out. It happened to me too.
I’m forthright in my comments and was not the ideal bride my in-laws were looking for.
People should understand that there is no point in flaunting money. Yes, money is a requisite for living a good life but the utmost necessity is peace. If our life lacks it, then there is no point in piling up money. Despite going through several ordeals and bouts with tension, I remained mum and never opened all this to my husband.
At night, I would end up receiving slaps and torture from my husband but by morning I would be doing reels as if nothing happened. I used to be like that but not anymore. I never spoke a word back while getting slapped only because I still keep my father-in-law in high reverence.
I am a person who is filled inside and out with love. My husband is my polar opposite. He had an affair once and still, he is not out of it. As a wife, he had protected me and never loved me.”
