THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Prominent journalist Rana Ayyub has narrated the terrifying days she spent writing her book, Gujarat Files, which sheds light on the background of the Gujarat riots. She was speaking at the National Women Journalists Conclave organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Rana Ayyub described the tough challenges, the terrifying days, the sting operations carried out under false names, and the stay in secret shelters. She also shared with the audience that she had to see a mental health expert and take medication for a long time.
"Journalists should stand by what they see and understand firsthand. It is welcome that the new generation of girls are choosing journalism. Good people and love for fellow human beings still exist in our country. I would like to continue working in India," said Rana Ayyub. Journalist Saraswathi Nagarajan moderated the chat session.
