NAGPUR: Vidarbha has been crowned champions of the Ranji Trophy at the VCA stadium in Nagpur. Kerala lost the title after the final ended in a draw. On the last day, Vidarbha scored 375 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 143.5 overs and continued batting. With this, Vidarbha won the Ranji Trophy with a 37-run lead in the first innings. This is Vidarbha's third Ranji Trophy title. They were previously victorious in 2018 and 2019.
Meantime, Kerala ended the season undefeated. It was the first time in the history of the Ranji Trophy that Kerala reached the final. The tie came at a time when Kerala was expected to make a big comeback and Vidarbha won the title. Kerala will still have to wait for its dream of a first Ranji Trophy.
Vidarbha showcased their resilience with the bat again and was 375 for 9 on the final day when the match was called for a draw and thus the Vidarbha side won the final on virtue of first-inning lead. Vidarbha's Yash Rathore is the highest run-scorer in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season. Yash scored 960 runs. Danish Malewar is the player of the match in the final. Harsh Dubey was the Player of the Season with 69 wickets.
