Director Deepu Karunakaran had alleged that Anaswara Rajan, who acted in the film Mr. and Mrs. Bachelor that he directed, was not cooperating with the promotion of the film. It became a big discussion on social media. Now, Anaswara Rajan has come forward with a response to the issue. Anaswara's response was through Instagram.
Anaswara Rajan says
I have to write this note because I have had to face some very painful situations. For the past few days, director Sri Deepu Karunakaran has been making defamatory remarks about me in interviews in various media outlets, saying that I will not cooperate with his promotions. The film Mr. and Mrs. Bachelor, in which I acted, was planned to be released in August 2024.
First of all, regarding his remark that I often came to the shoot after asking for money and only after getting paid - When the payment issue came up during the shoot of the film, even when Deepu told me not to leave the room without the producer depositing the money into my account, I was the one who took the initiative to finish the shoot even when the shoot had to be stopped. That bad remark by Mr. Deepu that 'I took the money after counting', which questioned my sincerity, has upset me not only professionally but also emotionally.
I have shared the character poster and trailer on my Instagram. I have also shared all the posts on the official Facebook page. However, the wrong idea that my official Facebook page is some page managed by fans was spread. He mentioned that I was not ready to come for the promotion even after the lead actor and director of the film told me. I have given an interview as part of the film just before the release date. The only online promotional interview for this film is mine. After that, we have not received any updates from the team. When we contacted them 2 days before the release, they informed us that the release has been postponed and that there will be no release until some issues are resolved. That too, we came to know about these things only when we called them.
Since then, I have not been informed of the official confirmation that this film is going to be released. But suddenly, Mr. Deepu is making statements criticizing me, my mother, manager, etc. on the channels. I believe that the director, who is creating unnecessary controversies over the promotion of the film, has given these negative comments with the malicious intention of negatively affecting my career.
In an interview given by Deepu, he said that there were some actors who gave him trouble, but it was pointless to mention those incidents and names now and it would not benefit the film or him personally. So does he mean that dragging my name alone will benefit the film and him personally?
He has also mentioned that he has had bad experiences, such as not getting paid during his shoot and other actors and actresses not leaving the caravan, and not reaching the shoot on time. The reason why he left out the names of the above-mentioned actors and only mentioned my name publicly, criticizing me for not sharing the music poster on Instagram, may be because of the attitude that I would not respond because I am a relatively new face and a girl. I do not want to use the victim card of being a woman here. I have already submitted a complaint to the AMMA Association, of which I am a member. I have decided to deal with this issue officially if Deepu takes this issue further and makes defamatory remarks against me. I am taking legal action against the YouTube channel and vloggers who have been defaming me and spreading unfounded comments on this issue in the last few days without knowing the truth of the matter.
While I have other commitments to fulfil, I am still ready to come to the promotions of this film if informed in advance. I am a person who has been participating in the promotions of my three films released this year, putting aside other commitments for the last three months. I am a person who is fully aware that participating in the necessary promotions of the film I am a part of is my responsibility beyond my contract with that film.
Thank you,
Anaswara Rajan.
