Youth kills mother with spear for intervening in fight with wife

LUCKNOW: In a fit of rage, a 25-year-old youth killed his mother with a spear for intervening in a fight with his wife. The victim is Naina Devi (60) and the incident happened at Ganpatpur village under Nigohi police station limits in Uttar Pradesh. Her son has been identified as Vinod Kumar.

Police said Vinod Kumar often comes home drunk and gets into a fight every day. On Thursday evening, Vinod came home drunk and started beating his wife. When his mother intervened, he attacked her with a spear.

On being informed, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused. A murder case has been registered and the body has been sent for post-mortem.
