PATHANAMTHITTA: A Youth Congress worker has been arrested for possession of ganja. The arrested person is Nasib S, a native of Kumbazha in Pathanamthitta. 300 grams of ganja were seized from him. This is not his first arrest related to narcotics; Nasib was previously detained in a similar case a year ago. At that time, he managed to flee but was apprehended weeks later.
Nasib had recently been released on bail in the earlier case. Following this latest arrest, the Youth Congress district leadership confirmed that disciplinary action had been taken against him, and he is no longer associated with the organization.
The arrest comes as part of the state’s ongoing 'Clean Slit' drive by the Excise Department, which is focused on closely monitoring individuals previously linked to drug-related offenses. As part of the initiative, authorities have been conducting searches at the residences of these individuals.
300 grams of ganja was seized from Nasib's house in Kumbazha during a raid conducted by the Excise as part of this drive. A year ago, Excise officials had seized ganja from his house near Pathanamthitta town.
