KOZHIKODE: The KSRTC Budget Tourism Cell is preparing to expand its travel and pilgrimage services beyond Kerala to neighboring states. In the first phase, destinations like Ooty, Mysuru, and Kodaikanal will be included. The initiative will be launched from 80 depots across the state.
Discussions with Tamil Nadu Transport Corporation and other agencies are in the final stage. If the talks are successful, the service will be extended to more locations in neighboring states.
Super Deluxe non-AC buses will be used for these trips. Throughout the journey, a tour coordinator (conductor) will provide passengers with insights into the uniqueness and historical significance of the tourist destinations. Both two-day and three-day tour packages will be available.

KSRTC is also planning to introduce more double-decker buses into service. Currently, only three are operational. The department is also considering affordable accommodation options, including lodges, homestays, and dormitories, to enhance the travel experience.
