Third semester MBA re-exam over lost answer sheets, ‘very tough’; Results expected by Thursday

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The special exam for the MBA third semester project finance paper was very tough, according to students. The test was held after a teacher lost the original answer sheets. Students found the questions harder than in the previous exam. Out of 71 affected students, 65 appeared for the exam, achieving a 92% attendance rate. Two students travelled from abroad to take the test, while one based in Oman could not get leave. A second chance to write the exam will be provided on April 22 for six students, with an additional date possible for those facing difficulties to appear on 22nd.

The third semester results of 1,000 students, including those who wrote the exam today, will be published by Thursday. Those writing on April 22 will receive results within three days.

Breakdown of attendance

Thirty out of 34 students from Thiruvananthapuram DC School, 23 out of 24 from CHMM College, 7 out of 7 from Adoor UIM, 1 from Marthoma Institute, 2 from Kollam UIM and 2 out of 3 students from Member Sree Narayana Pillai Institute appeared for the exam.

Those who are unable to appear for the exam on the 22nd should inform the university in advance. The answer sheets given for evaluation were lost in Palakkad from Pramod, a guest lecturer at Poojappura Institute of Cooperative Management. Pramod has been expelled from the college. It may be decided to permanently ban him from examination duty and make him bear the financial expenses of the special exam.

Breakdown of attendance showed 30 out of 34 students from Thiruvananthapuram DC School, 23 out of 24 from CHMM College, 7 out of 24 from Adoor UIM, 1 from Marthoma Institute, 2 from Kollam UIM, and 2 out of 3 from Member Sree Narayana Pillai Institute participated. Students unable to attend the April 22 exam must inform the university beforehand. The lost answer sheets belonged to a guest lecturer named Pramod from Poojappura Institute of Cooperative Management in Palakkad. Pramod has been expelled and faces a permanent ban from exam duties. He may also be required to cover the costs of the special exam.
