MUMBAI: Former Indian cricketer Kedar Jadhav has joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He accepted party membership at an event held in Mumbai in the presence of BJP Maharashtra President Chandrashekhar Bawankule.
The 39-year-old, who was a middle-order batsman and off-spinner for the Indian team, retired from cricket in June 2024. Jadhav represented India in 73 One Day Internationals (ODIs), scoring 1,389 runs at an average of 42.09 and also claiming 27 wickets. In first-class cricket, he played 79 matches and amassed 5,154 runs at an average of 46.01.
In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Jadhav played for teams such as Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Delhi Capitals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
