TALIPARAMBA: Sudhas Kannoth and his family are yet to accept the reality that they escaped the Pahalgam terrorist attack by a whisker. All credit for Sudhas and his family coming unscathed from the Pahalgam attack goes to their horse.
While talking to Kerala Kaumudi, Sudhas talked about an accident during horse riding that ended up saving them all. Sudhas arrived in Srinagar with his wife and son on the 18th through a tour package. Sudhas and his family travelled the valley for three days and visited the places before reaching Pahalgam on Monday.
After staying at a hotel there, he headed for the meadow in Pahalgam at around 11.30 am on Tuesday as per the tour guide's instructions. Sudhas, who travelled on horseback for seven kilometres through a path filled with red stone, black stone, and mud, had a tough time handling the equine. Sudhas fell off his horse, leaving his clothes dirty with mud. He returned unable to complete the journey or enjoy the beauty of the valley.
At the ground station, Sudhas heard news about the terrorist attack in the valley and was left perplexed. Sudhas Kannoth and his family are expected to return to their home in Taliparamba by morning today.
