SRINAGAR: A soldier was killed after security forces and terrorists exchanged fire at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir. The firing took place during a search based on information about the presence of terrorist, said the authorities. The encounter was in Dudu-Basantgarh area and is still continuing. More forces have been sent to the area.
The encounter broke out two days after 26 people were killed as terrorists opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district. Among the dead are an officer from the Navy, an Air Force staff and another from the Intelligence Bureau.
