THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor endorsed the general sentiments of Indians and demanded immediate military retaliation against Pakistan. Tharoor also pointed out the usual Pakistani rhetoric of denying any role in an attack despite providing a breeding ground for terrorists.

“They are encouraging, training, and arming people. They are also assisting at the borders. Later, they will deny all responsibility. Even foreign intelligence agencies have found out their clear role in the terrorist attack. After Uri and Pulwama, the government carried out surgical strikes. If I’m not wrong, something bigger is on the way.

Although we have diplomatic, economic and other options to strangle Pakistan, a military retaliation is the need of the hour. The country demands and expects it. The date is not fixed, but I believe it to be brutal."

Tharoor also responded to Pakistan People's Party leader Bilawal Bhutto's threat of bloodshed if IWT is kept at abeyance.

“We don’t want any dealings with Pakistan. If continue to crane necks into our issues and disturb peace, Pakistan should be ready to deal with the Indian response. If Bhutto thinks there will be bloodshed, it will be more from their side than ours.” Said Shashi Tharoor.
