CHEMPAZHANTHY: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellappally Natesan said that along with teaching the philosophy and message of Sree Narayana Guru, his divinity should also be conveyed to the people. 'While Guru is a revolutionary, social reformer and renaissance hero, he is also a God. "Guru's vision is God-based," he said. Vellappally was inaugurating the Gurukula Convention at Chempazhanthy Sree Narayana Gurukalam.

"To grow and rise materially, one must build on a spiritual foundation. There is the Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust to implement the spiritual vision of Guru, and the SNDP Yoga for material activities. Yogam is also a protest organization. It is the organization that led the Nivarthana movement and the Vaikom Satyagraha. There are those who argue that Guru is not God. Who were Christ, Muhammad, and Buddha? How did they become gods? They became gods through purity of karma and penance. The case of Sree Narayana Guru is no different. However, the divinity of Guru is often forgotten. Kundalinipattu makes it clear that Guru is God. Athmavilasam also notes that he and God became one. Only by going through the works of Guru can one know Guru. Guru still exists as an invisible force."

"Yogam and the Dharmasangham Trust, founded by Gurudev, must move forward together. We gratefully remember the Left government's generous support to Yogam and the Trust," said Vellappally Natesan.

In his chairman's speech, Kadakampally Surendran MLA pointed out that the Left government has been moving forward for the last nine years following Guru Darshan. Kadakampally said that the importance of Guru Darshan is well recognized by modern society. Kerala Kaumudi Thiruvananthapuram Unit Chief S Vikraman, VK Prashanth MLA, Municipal Councilor Chempazhanthy Udayan, SNDP Yogam Editor K Sukumaran Memorial Union Secretary Aluvila Ajith, SNDP Yogam Chempazhanthy Gurukulam Union Vice President N Sudheendran, Murukkumpuzha Gurudeva Darshan Padana Kendra President Murukkumpuzha C Rajendran, and Swami Abhayananda were present. Vellappally Natesan congratulated Malayattoor native S Gourinanda, who completed 90 stages in Gurudeva's biography lecture within the age of 11. Sree Narayana Dharma Sangham Trust General Secretary Swami Shubhangananda delivered the welcome speech and Shaijupavithran Chempazhanthi delivered the vote of thanks.
