KOCHI: Producer Sandra Thomas made a veiled attack against the producers’ organisation for not coming to the aid of actor Nivin Pauly. Sandra Thomas, in a statement given to a television channel, termed producer Listin Stephen an authoritarian and blamed the same reason for the association's hesitance in moving against him for the public tirade he meted out at an actor.
Sandra Thomas:
"Even office bearers of organisations are getting funds for films through Listin. He has the final say on all matters of Mollywood and is an unofficial oligarch of the industry. It requires some nerve to act against Listin, and I don’t think anyone within the organisation is capable of that.
I still don’t know why AMMA has not responded to the issue. What Listin said the other day has put all actors on the edge. If it was aimed at Nivin, it is vital to hear his side of the story too.
I’m part of the organisation despite being considered an outcast. I will use my rights to raise the issue in the organisation.”
Listin’s statement during the launch of Dileep's new film 'Prince and Family'.
It's been ten to fifteen years since I came to Malayalam cinema. And today, a prominent actor has committed a big wrong. It will likely spread like wildfire in the coming days. It could have been avoided. I hope that the actor is watching this and will rectify his wrong. If not, things will get worse,” said Listin.
