NEW DELHI: A strong earthquake has been reported in Turkey, registering a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale. According to reports, the quake struck the Konya province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey. So far, no casualties have been reported.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) stated that the epicentre was located approximately 78 kilometres (48.67 miles) deep, near the Greek island of Kasos. Tremors were also felt in countries such as Greece, Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan. In Turkey, the quake was experienced in several provinces, including Denizli, Antalya, Aydın, Isparta, Burdur, Manisa, and İzmir.

A previous earthquake had occurred in Turkey on April 23, registering a magnitude of 6.2 on the Richter scale. That tremor was felt in the city of Istanbul, with the epicentre located 6.9 kilometres below the Marmara Sea.
