NEW DELHI: LPG cylinder prices have been reduced in the country. Oil companies have reduced the price of LPG cylinders for commercial use. The price of a 19 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs 24. The revised price will be effective from today. The revised prices will directly affect restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments that use these cylinders for daily operations.

With the introduction of the new price, the price of an LPG cylinder for commercial use will be Rs 1729.50 in Kochi. In Kozhikode, the new price will be Rs 1761.50 and in Thiruvananthapuram, it will be Rs 1750.50. Cooking gas prices are revised on the 1st and 15th of every month. Oil marketing companies revise prices every month, taking into account changes in international oil prices, tax norms and supply-demand factors. The reason for the decline in LPG cylinder prices in India is the fall in international oil prices. The price of a commercial cylinder was reduced by Rs 15 in May and by Rs 43 in April.

Meanwhile, the price of LPG cylinders for domestic use has not decreased significantly in the country for more than a year. The price of cylinders for domestic use was increased in April. In April, the price of a 14.2 kg gas cylinder was increased by Rs 50. Currently, the price of cooking gas for domestic use in Kochi is Rs 860. The price of the cylinder is Rs 861.5 in Kozhikode and Rs 862 in Thiruvananthapuram.
