'Kerala Chicken' set to conquer market

ALAPPUZHA: Kerala Chicken is readying moves to launch new frozen and ready-to-cook chilled products to create a ripple effect in the market. Currently, various frozen products such as chicken drumsticks, boneless breast, chicken biryani cut, chicken curry cut, and full chicken are being launched in the market under the brand 'Kudumbashree Kerala Chicken'. Kerala Chicken has 456 farms and 140 outlets in the state. One frozen product will be launched in the market every month.

Currently, the Kerala Chicken products are sold in Malappuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Pathanamthitta, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. Sales will start in Kannur, Kozhikode, Palakkad, and Alappuzha districts this month. It will also be delivered to Idukki, Wayanad, and Kasaragod districts within two months. The officials are also eyeing the export opportunities of these products.

Chicken samosa, sausage, chicken pickle, cutlet, full chicken with skin, and without skin are available. Chicken with skin is supplied for use with Alfam and other Yemeni culinary favourites. The full chicken will be available from 1 kg to 1.3 kg and the rest from 500 to 900 grams. The price has not been finalized.

Chilled products can be stored and used for up to five days. The chilled chicken products about to be launched in the market include chicken drumsticks, boneless breast, chicken biryani cuts, chicken curry cuts, and full chicken.
