WASHINGTON: President Trump is preparing to impose a travel ban on 36 new countries to the United States. Of the 36 countries that will face the travel ban, 25 are African countries. Countries such as Ethiopia, Egypt, and Djibouti are also on the list of countries on which a travel ban has been imposed. US Secretary of the Interior Marco Rubio signed the draft in this regard. The United States has given the countries on the list 60 days to complete the emergency procedures.
The countries that have been imposed a travel ban are Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Egypt, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principe, Senegal, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. The US Department of Homeland Security alleges that many people from these countries are arriving without proper identification documents.
The draft law addresses visa restrictions and travel bans on people coming to the United States for education, work, and other purposes.
