WASHINGTON: Pakistan is planning to build an intercontinental ballistic missile following India's Operation Sindoor, which devastated the Pakistani army. A US intelligence report has come out that Pakistan is secretly building an intercontinental ballistic missile that can reach the United States with the help of China. Pakistan's move is in anticipation of the possibility of conflict with the United States and India. The report says that the weapons are being built in a very secret manner with the help of China.
Although Pakistan is targeting India, the US assesses that Pakistan's move is a challenge for them too. Pakistan also aims to build the ballistic missile to defend itself in the event of an attack by the US. If the test of this missile is successful, Pakistan will have to be considered a nuclear-capable adversary, according to the US intelligence report. The U.S. considers nuclear adversaries to be countries that have the capability to launch a nuclear attack on the United States or other territories under U.S. control.
The U.S. had imposed sanctions last year against Pakistan for moving forward with its long-range ballistic missile program. However, the report points out that Pakistan has not abandoned the program.
