'Dated Baahubali actor for years, lavish wedding got cancelled because of popular actor; things that happened in Trisha's life'

There have been numerous recent rumours suggesting that actor Vijay and actress Trisha are in a romantic relationship. A comment by a film critic that Trisha might be entering politics, following Vijay’s path, had also stirred widespread discussions. Trisha, however, denied the claims. Now, actor and director Alleppey Ashraf has openly spoken about the reasons behind the cancellation of Trisha’s engagement with a businessman.

“Reports were doing the rounds that Trisha was taking a similar political path as Vijay. Tamil film critic V.P. Anandan was the one who brought up these matters, triggering a lot of debate. It was rumoured that Trisha had spoken to her mother about quitting films to enter politics, and her mother was reportedly against the decision. This led to a rift between them. And as we’ve seen before, many of the rumours surrounding Trisha tend to come true,” said Ashraf.

He added, “Even though MGR had a wife, when he brought Jayalalithaa into politics, the Tamil people accepted her wholeheartedly. Trisha’s relationship with Baahubali actor Rana Daggubati had also created a lot of controversy. On the talk show Koffee with Karan, Rana made a few revelations, stating that he had dated Trisha for years. However, the reason behind their breakup remains unknown to this day.”

"In 2015, Trisha got engaged to entrepreneur Varun Manian. However, Varun later withdrew from the marriage. Rumours at the time claimed that Varun was upset with Trisha for inviting actor Dhanush to the grand engagement ceremony. It was also said that Varun had financial disagreements with Rajinikanth’s family around that time. According to sources in the film industry, this was believed to be the root cause of the fallout," Ashraf said.
