Centre tightens drone ban around ISRO centres

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central government has issued an order tightening the ban on drones around ISRO centres. As per orders from the Kerala government, these locations have been officially declared as "Drone Prohibited Zones." The Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has stated that any violation of these guidelines will lead to further action as per the relevant laws and regulations.

The ban applies within a two-kilometre radius of the following facilities:

Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), Thumba
Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC), Valiamala
ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU), Vattiyoorkavu
Ammonium Perchlorate Experimental Plant (APEP), Aluva

The restrictions cover drones, lantern kites, and remotely operated aircraft.
