‘She will not be released; death penalty will be executed’; Talal’s brother responds on release of Nimisha Priya 

SANA: Brother of Talal Abdu Mahdi, who was killed, said the propaganda that the death penalty of Nimisha Priya in the Yemen citizen’s death case has been cancelled, is false. Abdul Fattah Mahdi also denied the propaganda that she will be released soon. In a Facebook post, he said that she will not be released and her execution will be implemented soon.

He said the individuals who claim to have contacted and discussed with Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musliyar have no connection with us. He also clarified that they have not contacted or met him at any time or place.

Nimisha Priya was sentenced to death by the trial court in the case of killing Yemeni citizen Talal Abdul Mahdi in 2017. The execution was postponed with only hours left for the verdict to be carried out. The only way to save Nimisha Priya was to give blood money to Talal's family.

However, Talal's family want the death penalty to be executed and will not accept the blood money. Nimisha Priya's mother Prema Kumari had gone to Yemen to meet Talal's family and apologize. It is reported that discussions were held with Talal's family and other leaders, but it did not yield any results.

Nimisha Priya is the wife of Tommy Thomas of Thodupuzha. Nimisha Priya said that she killed Mahdi after he abused her and confiscated her passport.
