SANAA: Amidst news surfacing on the possible cancellation of Nimisha Priya’s death sentence, Talal's brother, Abdul Fattah Mahdi, denied the news, calling all such reports fake. Abdul Fattah Mahdi's response was through his Facebook page. Abdul denied reports of forgiving Nimisha and asked Kanthapuram to clarify the organisation he had held talks with in Yemen. Abdul Fattah Mahdi made this announcement by sharing news clippings from Malayalam media.

Abdul Fattah Mahdi:

“Kanthapuram himself should clarify which organisation he is related to. Do not spread such false news again. Our religion of Islam rejects interpretations that allow mercy to murderers. There is no need for any humanity to be shown to the murderer. Similarly, our constitution and justice system in Yemen are based on the foundations of Islam. Therefore, we must respect the punishment given to the murderer by the court, and we cannot be complacent about it,' he noted.”
