Killed dad for chain, son confesses to police

THRISSUR: A man, who killed his father, told police that he killed his aged dad for his gold chain. Sundaran Nair (80) of Mulayam Koottala died after his son attacked him. Sumesh confessed to the police that after hitting his father to death, he put the body in a sack and then dumped into a vacant land.

The body was found dumped yesterday. His relatives first saw the body. Sumesh always enters into an altercation with his father for money. When his father refused to give his chain, he hit his father on his head with a piece of wood. He then tied his father’s hands and legs, put the body in a sack and then abandoned it in an empty land.

The police had found blood stains in Nair’s house. Sumesh confessed that he had pawned his father’s chain. The Mannuthy police is investigating the case.
