KOLLAM: A 21-year-old woman was found dead inside the house of her live-in partner. The deceased has been identified as Anjana Satheesh (21), a native of Cheriyavelinalloor in Kollam district. The incident took place at Ayoor in Kollam. Anjana was found dead in the bedroom of her partner, Nihas, a bus conductor. The couple had been living together at Nihas’s house for the past six months.

Anjana and Nihas started living together about six months ago. Though they were close, their families did not agree to their marriage, following which Anjana left home and moved in with Nihas. Her family later filed a missing person complaint at the Chadayamangalam police station, after which both families and the couple were called in.

Police tried to mediate between them, but the efforts were unsuccessful. Anjana told the police she did not want to return to her family and wished to remain with Nihas, so the couple was allowed to leave together. However, in recent weeks, their relationship reportedly turned strained, with frequent arguments and disagreements between them.

The Chadayamangalam police have registered a case of unnatural death in connection with Anjana’s death. After completing the inquest, the body was shifted to Parippally Medical College for post-mortem examination. Anjana was the daughter of Satheesh and Ambika and had a brother, Ananthu.
