Popular actress Maala Parvathi revealed that several people in the Malayalam film industry think that they have lost their freedom ever since the formation of Women in Cinema Collective(WCC). The actress made the statement during an interview given to Kaumudy TV.

Parvathi said, "I've heard people say that they've lost freedom since the formation of WCC. According to them, they no longer have the courage to crack jokes and participate freely on the film sets. Though I'm not a member of WCC, many think otherwise. I think it was my stand in the Dileep issue which forced them (WCC leaders) not to include me in the collective." The actress also said that she still stands by her words regarding the Dileep issue. "During a channel show, I refused to take stand against Dileep as I did not have much idea regarding the case. I still stand by my earlier opinion as they haven't proved Dileep's presence in the scene yet," she added.
