KOCHI: Actress Shwetha Menon, the newly elected president of AMMA organisation, said the case against her, claiming she earned money through obscene films, was funded by someone else. She stated that there was no real basis for the case and described it as a “funded case.” She also said she would fight against it.
“I don’t know the motive behind the case filed against me. I don’t know if anyone is behind it. Someone funded the case. Everyone knows I will respond. I will fight for my family and self-respect. The case is now in court,” Shwetha Menon said.
Shwetha added that her role as AMMA president is challenging and she plans to implement changes through discussions within the organisation. Her husband, Sreevalsan, said the case cannot intimidate her and that the family fully supports her.
This is the first time in the 31-year history of the AMMA organisation, a woman has been elected as president. Women have also been elected as general secretary, vice president, and joint secretary.
