Legendary Spanish luxury porcelain brand Lladró, is collaborating with Indian artist Dr. Arun Yogiraj, the sculptor behind the iconic Ram Lalla in the Ayodhya temple. The Valencian-based company is planning to release a limited-edition masterpiece of Lord Ram Lalla. Only 499 pieces of the High Porcelain masterpiece will be released worldwide.
Lladró stated it as a rare collaboration that intends to connect art with spirituality.
“Lladró approached me with an idea to connect Indian spiritual heritage with their porcelain artistry. I have been a follower of their works and always admired their deep respect for Indian traditions.” Said Arun Yogiraj.
In their response to Fortune magazine, Lladró said they considered Arun among India’s most respected master craftsmen.
“His skill to infuse traditional iconography with an emotive, almost lifelike presence resonated deeply with our creative philosophy,” says Lladro India CEO Nikhil Lam.
The new unveiling will be part of the 25th anniversary of Lladró’s Spirit of India collection. Lladró’s iconic Lord Balaji porcelain is worth around Rs 35 lakh.
