Megastar Mammootty, who has been on a break from films for the last few months, is now gearing up for a comeback. His friends confirmed that he has fully recovered from his illness. However, actor and close friend V.K. Sreeraman revealed that Mammootty's recovery wasn't a sudden development, but rather a gradual process.
“Mammootty's recovery didn’t happen in a single day. Even yesterday and the day before, he called me. Usually, he calls once a week. He never spoke much about the illness. In the beginning, he had no taste for food and found it difficult to walk. However, Mammootty always talked as if those issues were not important. Instead, he would speak about many other things- sometimes politics, sometimes farming. I don’t have as much knowledge as he does about these subjects.
If I say I don’t agree with his opinion about something, he'll immediately ask, ‘Then what is your opinion about it?’ That'll put me in a fix. These are the kinds of conversations we have. They are not heavy intellectual discussions, but when we talk for a while, many topics come up. Still, they are never too serious. Mammootty always needs someone to share his thoughts with. Just yesterday, he was teaching me about cameras.
A few days back, he called me and said that he had regained his sense of taste and smell. During the early stages of therapy, he had no sense of taste or smell. But now he has recovered fully from that. He never once showed signs of weakness or lack of energy as a patient,” said V.K. Sreeraman.
