NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) voter list reform is an institutionalized way to steal votes in Bihar. Rahul was speaking at a press conference on the eighth day of his 'Voter Adhikar Yatra'. The yatra passed through Araria in Bihar yesterday. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar also joined the yatra yesterday.

"The opposition grand alliance in Bihar will not allow vote-rigging. The ideological and strategic unity among the parties in the grand alliance is reflected in the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra'. When I revealed evidence of vote-rigging in Karnataka, the Election Commission asked me to file an affidavit without taking action. On the other hand, BJP leader Anurag Thakur, who had made similar allegations, was not asked to do so."

Rahul said that the huge support for the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' is proof of the acceptance of the reality that crores of people in Bihar are rigging the elections. 'Even 6-year-old children have started saying 'vote chori'. The INDIA alliance will prepare a special manifesto against farmer exploitation in Bihar, focusing on debt relief, procurement, and export-import facilities," Rahul said.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav alleged that the Election Commission is acting like another cell of the BJP. Communist Party of India-Marxist Leninist leader Dipankar Bhattacharya and Vikassheel Insan Party leader Mukesh Sahani also attended the press conference.

INDIA Front leaders

More 'INDIA' front leaders are expected to join the rally in the coming days as public support for Rahul's visit to Bihar is increasing. Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav has been announced to arrive on Thursday. Apart from this, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will arrive on Wednesday. JMM leader and Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Congress Chief Ministers Siddaramaiah, Revanth Reddy, Sukhwinder Sukhu and others will also join the rally.
