THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KPCC President Sunny Joseph said the allegations leveled against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil are serious and his resignation from youth congress president’s post is exemplary. No case has been registered against Rahul. Therefore, Sunny Joseph clarified that he need not resign his MLA post. He was talking to the media in Thiruvananthapuram.

The KPCC chief said that he had communicated with Congress leaders regarding further action against Rahul. The party has not received any complaint and a complaint has not been registered legally. A case has not been registered anywhere. There is no justification or logic for our political opponents to demand the resignation of Rahul Mamkootathil. They have no morality to raise such a demand. There have been many incidents where people's representatives have not resigned despite FIRs and charge sheets.

The Congress is a political movement believing that women's safety and self-respect should be protected. Therefore, the party suspension is a decision taken unanimously by all after consulting the leadership. Rahul has been informed about this,' clarified Sunny Joseph.
