BENGALURU: Malayali YouTuber Manaf will likely appear for questioning before the SIT on Monday regarding the revelations made in Dharmasthala. Manaf was earlier issued a notice by officials to appear for questioning. He was asked to appear in person on Friday, but the dates were later changed upon request, considering the Onam celebrations.
Following a hoax call from sanitation worker Chinnaya, who alleged burying bodies of hundreds of rape victims at Dharmasthala, Manaf, a Malayali YouTuber, jumped the gun and uploaded several videos regarding the topic without any introspection.
This was done with the help of YouTuber Jayant, who is under suspicion in the fake disclosure case. The Special Investigation Team focused on the YouTubers after receiving information about their involvement in the case from the arrested Chinnayya and Sujatha Bhatt. Based on this, the SIT issued a notice to Manaf, asking him to appear for questioning today. However, Manaf requested to be exempted from appearing, considering Onam and Eid.
Manaf was the owner of the lorry driven by Kozhikode native Arjun, who died in a landslide in Shirur. The investigation team has received information that Manaf, who visited Dharmasthala many times in the last few months, had met many of the alleged perpetrators.
