ALAPPUZHA: Travancore Devaswom President PS Prasanth has invited SNDP General Secretary Vellappally Natesan to the Global Ayyappa Summit. During the meeting, Vellappally Natesan said that Sabarimala should not be turned into a controversial land. He also demanded that the cases registered against devotees must be withdrawn. He further said that the SNDP has a clear stance on the Ayyappa Summit and that those looking at the Summit as an atonement may look at it that way.

"Sabarimala will get global fame. That is a great possibility of revenue. Those looking at the Ayyappa Summit as an atonement may look at it that way. Controversial topics should be kept aside. SNDP has a clear stand regarding the matter. The Ayyappa Summit has no connection with the elections. Do not waste time by speaking party politics and blaming Pinarayi," Vellappally said.

The Global Ayyappa Summit organised by the state government is scheduled to be held on September 20. While people from various quarters are raising criticism against the move to organise the Ayyappa Summit, both the government and the Devaswom Board are proceeding with preparations for the event. As a part of these efforts, the Devasom Board has personally invited the representatives from NSS and SNDP to participate.
